Introduction for Newcomers

WELCOME:
Until some people find this blog, I'm afraid it will just be my story, but leave your comments and come back often. Eventually, it will be your blog too!

As introduction, I will not repeat what I've already written about how or why this blog came into existence. You can read all of that by clicking on the "About Me" link above. It is enough to say that I have OA. Unfortunately, at least for the moment, it is THE most significant fact of my life. Hopefully that will change one day soon. Whether anyone out there in webworld ever reads this or not, writing will help me. I'm sure of that. If you are here today, maybe it will help you too.

ADD YOUR STORY:
If you would like to write your own story about OA on this blog, please do. You can do that by writing in the comments section. For the sake of others, it would be helpful if your comments relate to the topic posted or you could suggest a topic and I will try to post about that next. That way, others can search a topic and find not just my information about it, but yours as well. In this way, the blog will become OURS!

HOW TO COMMENT:
Before you leave a comment, please read the "About Commenting" page. (See the link above.)
Leaving a comment may be a bit tricky for people new to blogging. This is especially true because I want to prevent spam (computer junk mail) from showing up. I also want to block comments that are rude or crude and those that are trying to sell you something. So, here is what you need to know about leaving a comment:

1. To leave a comment, click on inside the "Post a Comment" box below at the bottom of the page.

2. You will need to have some kind of web account like gmail. These accounts are free. No one will see your personal information. If you do not have a gmail account, it only takes a second to get one. There is a like you can follow when you go to the "Comments" section that will help you sign up. After that, you can click the return arrow on your browser (the left arrow way up at the top of your screen on the left!). That will return you to this site.

After you have written your comment and click post...or whatever it says...you will get a funny sort of code into a special box that you must re-type correctly. Pay attention to capital and small letters. This helps prevent spam. If you have trouble reading the code you must type in, just click on the link that says you want a new code. Hopefully one of them will be easy enough to read.

3. Be patient. There may be some delay before your comment appears because I am screening all comments to keep out the "trash talk." I will try to check comments daily but cannot promise 100%. I will do my best.

Anyway, that's it. That is all there is to writing a comment.

SEARCHING TOPICS:
During whatever time I keep this blog active, I will try to organize it in a way that makes it easy for others to find topics of interest by using labels to identify topics in each post. While I would love to offer a blog right now that contains lots of different topics, I cannot. Blogging takes time. Topics must be written about. Hopefully, I will eventually get to a subjust that you find helpful or that encourages you to share your own thoughts.

SUBSCRIBING:
If you would like to receive an email notification each time there is a new post, click below on the "subscribe by email" link below. I used to avoid subscribing to others blogs but then I discovered how really helpful it can be to know whenever there was something out there that is new to read. Anyway, all you have to do if delete the email notice if you aren't interested, right?

HOW TO FIND THIS BLOG AGAIN:
If you think you might want to come back to this blog again in the future, one easy way to do it is to create a shortcut. A shortcut will put a link to this blog on your desktop. To do it, place your mouse somewhere on the blog page and click the right button. This opens a window. Go to the place that says "create shortcut" and click that. It will ask you if you want to place a shortcut on your desktop. Say "yes" and you're done.

UPCOMING CHANGES:
If you have a blog of your own, eventually there will be a button available for you to grab here and place on your blog.so your readers can find visit here too. When it is ready, look for it on the right hand column.

OUR BLOG:
For now, this is MY blog, but what I hope is that it will one day become OUR blog - a place for all of us impacted by OA to meet and share and offer support and ideas. So don't be shy about leaving your comments.
